When Crooked Companies Rip You Off...We Make It Right!
At Haynes Law Offices, we focus on providing legal advice for people who have been ripped-off or defrauded by crooked car dealers and subprime finance companies, as well as being sued or harassed by debt collectors.
Cheryl A. Haynes was born into the practice of law, with both her father, Douglas M. Haynes, and her uncle, James A. Haynes,
being practicing attorneys. She attended Vassar College, where she obtained her B.S. degree in Political Science and later earned
her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. Cheryl was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1987.
With nearly 30 years of experience as a practicing trial attorney, Cheryl began her career in her father’s probate practice.
Following his sudden and unfortunate passing, she clerked for two judges at the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas,
driven by her aspiration to become a civil defense attorney.
Cheryl then served as Assistant Legal Counsel for the Regional Transit Authority in the Administrative and Labor Law Section
of the Legal Department, specializing in Worker’s Compensation and various Labor and Employment cases. Notably, she
created and implemented the RTA Subrogation Plan, filing some of the first cases in the state against third parties responsible for
employee workers' compensation expenses, recovering over $700,000 for the Authority in one year.
In 2007, Cheryl established her own practice, specializing in Criminal Law, defending clients charged with felonies ranging
from the 1st to the 5th degree. She also vigorously litigates Consumer Protection cases, pursuing CSPA and other violations against Car Dealers and Subprime lenders, as well as FDCPA violations against debt collectors. Cheryl has successfully sued large banks such as Deutsche Bank
and major corporations like Seterus, Inc., a loan servicer, as well as Springfield Holdings, a debt buyer and collector.
